Community Recreation Center Addition

Expanding Community Services with Recreation Center Addition

Project Overview

This community-focused project added 4,000 square feet to an existing recreation center, significantly expanding its capacity to serve residents. Working with the municipal client, we designed and constructed an addition that seamlessly integrates with the existing 1980s building while meeting current building codes and accessibility standards. The addition includes a new fitness room with specialized flooring and ventilation for exercise equipment, two multi-purpose rooms for classes and meetings, expanded locker facilities, and a new main entrance with covered drop-off area. Achieving full ADA compliance was a priority—we installed an elevator, accessible restrooms, automatic doors, and appropriate signage throughout. The structural design required careful coordination with the existing building foundation and roof system. Energy efficiency measures include high-performance insulation, LED lighting, occupancy sensors, and high-efficiency mechanical systems with separate zoning for different activity areas. Durable finishes were selected for high-traffic public use, including impact-resistant wall protection, commercial-grade flooring, and easy-to-maintain surfaces. The project was constructed while the existing facility remained operational, requiring careful phasing, temporary barriers, and construction hour restrictions to minimize disruption to daily programs. The expanded facility now serves more community members with improved amenities and accessibility.

How Every Project Begins and Takes Shape

1

Data Gathering & Site Analysis

We begin by collecting essential project information — from measurements and requirements to site conditions. This foundation allows us to understand your goals and plan with accuracy.

2

Concept Sketching & Space Planning

Next, we translate your ideas into initial sketches and layout studies. This step helps visualize spatial flow, functionality, and design direction before detailed drafting begins.

3

Drafting & Electrical Layout Design

Using advanced CAD tools, we develop detailed 2D plans, including electrical and structural layouts. Every line is drawn to meet technical standards and ensure construction-ready precision.

4

3D Visualization & Point of View Creation

Our team then transforms technical drawings into 3D perspectives that showcase materials, lighting, and design intent. These realistic visuals help clients fully experience the project before it’s built.

5

Material & Labor Estimation

We prepare detailed material and labor estimates based on the finalized design — ensuring budget accuracy and efficient planning for the next construction phase.

6

Final Documentation & Client Approval

Once all revisions are complete, we deliver finalized plans, visual renders, and documentation ready for construction and permit submission.
